Amir Khan: The destined WBC and WBA super world light welterweight champion

James Toney, former Boxing great who has won several world titles in different divisions, believes Amir Khan will be the victorious one against Danny Garcia. In a recent media interaction, he added Khan should knockout Danny Garcia, the current WBC light welterweight champion.

Amir, 25, is undoubtedly collecting much praise from almost all boxing analysts and even veteran boxers who have spent most of their lives in the ring beating opponents. James is yet another veteran who has placed his vote in Amir’s locker.

Khan and Danny are scheduled to take on each other in a 12-round bout that will definitely be an explosive one. The duo will meet at Mandalay Bay Resorts & Casino situated in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on July 14, 2012.

Less than a week is left before the two young guns will tear each other apart in the ring not because of what is at stake or on the line, but because the temperature has heightened on both sides due to the brash and insolent comments thrown by Garcia camp.

Since then, the two camps have concentrated on preparing their lads for the clash. Danny, despite possessing an undefeated flawless resume, is being considered an underdog.

Amir is coming of a lengthy 18 to 19 week training camp. Moreover, his new strengthening coach Ruben Tabares has moulded Khan’s training and fitness methodology in accordance with Danny’s style.

As a result of this development, Khan has evolved into a powerful pugilist who is now connecting strikes, at least at Freddie’s mitts, with great power and speed. A look at the Garcia camp reveals that they are not doing much.

Danny claims to be a hardworking lad, it might be right, but hard work without any clear strategy or target in mind is an effort in vain. Garcia camp is doing so. They are not concentrating on Amir or his style, his speed, agility, power, resilience and all other aspects.

All they are doing is plain training, sparring for hours aimlessly, increasing just the stamina. Apart from above, Danny and his camp should also realise this fact that Khan has grabbed some convincing heavy duty wins over big names.

There is some reason why Khan resides at the third spot in World Boxing Organisation’s. Even though, Khan has lost two bouts one should keep this in mind that one of them was a controversial one.

Furthermore, Khan has grabbed wins over names like Maidana, Judah, McCloskey, and even Malignaggi. Danny has just collected win over one big name that is Erik Morales. Another important facet that makes the odd-makers confident over Khan’s win is the fact that Garcia junior collected win over an aged Erik and not the Erik that was known as a legend who held the IBF title and generated a huge win streak while defending it.

Erik was old even then he was able to thrash and bash the young Danny. The aforementioned reasons just prove one thing that Amir has the ability to nail Danny Garcia. Therefore, Danny and his father should try to lay low and must not launch offensive especially racist comments.
