Apple’s upcoming iPhone: It can be the fastest smartphone and it should be – Part 1

Samsung’s new Galaxy SIII is undoubtedly the most intimidating handset to Apple’s upcoming release of new iPhone. The Android phone, for the first time in the contemporary smartphone competition, has set a standard for the premium handsets and Apple has to come up with something that stands tall against it.

Though the new Galaxy SIII does not bring anything revolutionary to the market, it has all the latest and greatest hardware and software specs that a user wants in premium phone. Apple, on the other hand, has an almost a year-old phone that has a screen that is five-year old with the exception of Retina Display.

The 720p HD screen in the SIII  robs the iPhone off it bragging rights on Retina Display to some extent. The Super-AMOLED technology gives the SIII screen vibrant colours, clear text and wider viewing angles. Though the IPS panel in the iPhone 4 and 4S offers natural colour palette, still it lacks behind Galaxy SIII in vivid display.

However, that is not the only thing that hits Apple hard. The iPhone 4S runs on a dual-core A5 chip while the likes of SIII and HTC One X have quad-core processors, at least in the international market. Therefore, Apple has to come up with a plan to bring in the quad-core chips.

Fortunately, the Cupertino-based company has the technology available. Samsung uses 28-nanometer silicon chips in dual-core processors. That reduces the size and makes way for both 3G and 4G LTE wireless connectivity to the dual-core version.

Apple might be thing of merging both quad-core processing units and different wireless wavelengths, including LTE and it makes sense. With gateways open for both quad-core processors and LTE under the same hood will be marketing festive for Apple in the North American market.
