Met office informs president no expectation for floods in Sindh this year

Karachi: (Tuesday, July 10, 2012) The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has informed president Zardari here in a meeting that according to the weather forecasts for Sindh, there was no flood prediction this year.

Sharing the details, the PMD officials said that there were no ‘unusual’ expectations for rains this year.

The president, however, said that even though there no predictions for rains and flood warnings, to be on a safe side, flood control rooms should be set up at central and district levels.

Jam Saifullah Dharejo, the Minister for Irrigation Sindh, while talking to the journalists, said that whether the floods come or not, feeling the responsibility and responding to the call of duty, the provincial government has
made all the necessary arrangements.
