Keenan Lineback and Pedro Oliveira win swimming events – USA Swimming Sectionals

Keenan Lineback and Pedro Oliveira won gold medals of the 200m butterfly in Women and Men’s corner respectively at the 2012 USA Swimming Sectionals in Greensboro.

With her astounding pace, Lineback stayed only a touch away from Prim and tapped the finishing blockade for the crown of the event with an effort of 2 minutes and 19.34 seconds.

The champion was chased by Prim, who remained only 0.03 seconds apart and hit the wall for silver medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 19.37 seconds.

The 21-year-old Prim was trailed by Katelyn Linker, who stayed 1.21 seconds slower from her former finisher and stepped on the medal rostrum for bronze medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 20.58 seconds.

Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Samantha Kase, who remained only 0.03 seconds behind and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 20.61 seconds.

Kase was trailed by Emma Coakley, who stayed almost one body length behind and submitted a time of 2 minutes and 21.38 seconds for fifth position.

Following that, the crowd witnessed mind-blowing efforts if Oliveira in the Men’s equivalent event. the 24-year-old Oliveira paved his way to the medal rostrum for gold medal as he tapped the wall with a wonderful timing of 2 minutes and 01.64 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by John Newell, who stayed 0.04 seconds apart and claimed silver medal of the discipline with a nice effort of 2 minutes and 01.68 seconds.

Subsequently, Newell was followed by Tom Luchsinger, who stayed one and a half body length behind and made his way to the victory stand for bronze medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 02.93 seconds.

The third position holder was traced by Lucas Gerotto, who remained almost four body lengths apart and hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 2 minutes and 06.54 seconds for fourth position.

Furthermore, the session came to an end after the completion of all planned events while the winners were awarded medals after the session.
