Breidis Prescott to Amir Khan: Now is the right time for us to do battle once again!

Junior welterweight contender Breidis Prescott is currently gearing up for his upcoming fight against Francisco ‘El Gato’ Figueroa, which will take place on August 18 in Miami, Florida. However, after Figueroa, Prescott wants a rematch with former unified WBA (Super) and IBF light welterweight champion, Amir Khan. He also has no problems facing Khan in UK.

The Bolton man, who is widely known as King Khan, is facing a lot of criticism these days because of his recent defeat against Danny Garcia. Khan entered the fight as a red-hot favorite against Garcia but the American underdog shocked everyone by stopping him in the fourth round.

This was Khan’s second consecutive defeat, as he had also lost to Lamont Peterson on points last year.

Nevertheless, Prescott was the first man ever to defeat Khan in the ring and he did it in the opening 54 seconds with a vicious right hand back in 2008.

The 29-year-old Colombian knows it as well and perhaps this is a reason why he has offered the Brit a rematch since he knows Khan desperately wants to come back under the main lights.

“Now is the right time for us to do battle once again. I am fighting on August 18 and after that I am willing and able to go to the UK to give the fans what they’ve wanted to see. It doesn’t matter if its 140 or 147 – I’m ready. It is time for you to start cleaning the stains on your shirt boy, and I left the first mark. Want to rebuild your legacy? Here is your first step in the right direction. Grow some balls and let’s give the UK fans what they all want. Viva UK,” Prescott told BoxingScene.com.

Well, all said and done, Breidis Prescott is certainly hitting on Amir Khan at the right time but still let’s see if Khan really sets up a fight with him.
