Amir Khan regrets fighting Danny Garcia like an amateur!

Amir Khan’s sting of fourth round TKO loss to Danny Garcia last Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino seems to have knocked some sense into his head because he now regrets fighting his opponent like an amateur.

The Bolton man, who is more commonly known as King Khan, looked impressive in the first two rounds before Garcia knocked him down three times. It all happened after Khan took a devastating blow from the American.

Perhaps this is a reason why he has now insisted that he will fight Garcia differently if/when they ever meet again in the future.

While speaking on his inclusion, the Brit insisted he would choose to box Garcia instead of fighting dumb.

Khan told the Guardian.co.uk “I’d just take my time. I would take a step back and just start boxing and seeing things more instead of rushing and taking loads of shots. Why fight like an amateur? It was in the back of my mind that I shouldn’t do this but then I thought it’s working for me so I’m going to stick with it.”

Khan had planned to move up to 147lbs pounds in order to set up a mega fight with the undefeated American legend Floyd Mayweather junior, who holds an incredible record of winning all of his 43 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.

However, Khan’s Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach believes after what has happened in the last two fights, Khan shouldn’t even think about moving up to the welterweight division right now.

Roach told RingTV “If we get a rematch, we will out-box him. I want the rematch right away. There’s no sense of even thinking about 147 until we show that we can beat this guy at 140.”

Well, all said and done, Amir Khan should have realised all these things ahead of the fight because he really needed this win to come back under the main lights.

Nevertheless, let’s hope he gets a rematch with Danny Garcia now.
