Turkey-Iraq oil pipeline comes under attack

Istanbul: (Saturday, July 21, 2012) Turkish authorities are clamouring for attack on pipeline that carries petroleum from Iraq to Turkey’s Mediterranean coast due to which oil supply have been cut since this last Friday.

According to the details, fire on the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline erupted near the town of Midyat in southeastern Turkey. While the allegations are there, no reliable source at the governor’s office could be contacted to comment on
the state of pipeline operator Botas.

Initially, the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a Kurd separatist group has claimed responsibility for attacks on the 960 Km petroleum line which carries about a quarter of Iraq oil exports.
