Multan: (Monday, July 23, 2012) The citizens in Multan resorted to protests against the power outages that have now entered into third day.

According to details, residents of Nawabpur, who were protesting against loadshedding, told the reporters that they had been devoid of electricity since first of Ramadan, and this triggered a severe shortage of water in the area.

Demonstrating against the protracted loadshedding hours, the protestors burnt tyres and also climbed up the poles while protesting.

It was learnt through the protestors that despite protests, the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) officials haven’t reached the area to fix the issue nor do they have any information about this fault.

The agonized residents shared that due to unavailability of water, they could not even observe the fast as high temperature and loadshedding, in absence of water, has made it difficult for them to properly fulfill this holly religious
obligation.
