London: (Monday, July 23, 2012) The Pakistani High Commission in UK has denied having any link with the passport scandal brewing here at home. In a statement after the allegations prevailed by the English newspaper ‘The Sun’, the
High Commission said that it is not involved into any matter.
According to a statement issued by the High Commission here today, the commission officials maintain a close liaison with the British Authorities and they regularly attend the security meetings organized by the local authorities.
Moreover, in a coordination meeting held here at the High Commission, the president of the Pakistan Olympics Association, Lt gen (retd) Arif Hassan categorically said that the documents of the 39-member Pakistani contingent were
prepared through proper laid down process of the International Olympics Committee and there is no possibility of anybody procuring fake accreditation for London Olympics 2012.
Taking notice of the allegation, the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad has taken serious notice of the media reports and is probing into the issue mentioned in the English newspaper.
