Broner: Amir Khan, Pacquiao were good but a win is not confirmed until it’s me or Mayweather!

The undefeated American pugilist Adrien Broner, who turned heads last Saturday by stopping Vincente Escobedo in the fifth round at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, looks fit enough to outclass Amir Khan, if he decides to step up to the light welterweight division in the near future.

The 30-year-old Escobedo, who held the WBO belt, had much more experience than Broner but he failed to put any pressure on the young Broner.

Broner was quoted saying as, “Like I’ve always said, I have faith in God.

“I believe in God and I believe in myself, so I don’t even think about upsets.”

While speaking on his inclusion, Broner had insisted any boxer out there can get beaten until it’s him or Floyd Mayweather junior, who currently has the WBC welterweight, WBA (Super) light middleweight and WBC diamond belts.

“Anything can happen in boxing. Like they say, any fight is one punch away from a knockout,” said Broner, who is nicknamed “Da Problem.”

“That is, if it isn’t me or Floyd Mayweather, anything can happen. Otherwise, you already know what’s going to happen when me and Floyd are in the ring.”

Timothy Bradley and Danny Garcia recently shocked the world by beating Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan respectively in the ring. However, when asked Broner, he stated the fighters who lose are neither him nor Mayweather junior, whose style Broner is known to emulate.

“You know, Pacquiao was good and Amir Khan was good,” Broner had said. “But you know, if it’s not me or Floyd Mayweather, then it’s not a for sure win.”

Well, the Bolton man, who is widely known as King Khan, anxiously wants a fight with Mayweather junior but it’s probably not going to happen for ages now since Khan has lost his last two fights.

Therefore, Khan should look forward to Broner, as he is the second best thing after Mayweather and he is an almost perfect copy of Mayweather.

Broner on the other hand should forget about the lightweight division as well and move up to the light welterweight division in order to go after Khan.

  1. Aloha

Broner just won with a no name boxer and now he’s bragging that he’s on the same level with Pacquiao and Mayweather? You can’t even give this guy a full credit of that win because he cheated 3 lbs to the agreed weight. I think this guy will be a clone of Mayweather and his style is like Mayweather. He uses his mouth too much like Mayweather and started cheating in his career at early stage. Boxer like this will kill boxing. What a shame. lol
