Law and order in Balochistan case: court adjourns case till July 31

Islamabad: (Thursday, July 26, 2012) Hearing the case about law and order situation in Balochistan, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has directed the Inspector General Frontier Corps to give in writing that he will recover
the missing persons otherwise FC personnel named in the FIR would be arrested.

A three member bench of the apex court, headed by the CJ resumed hearing on the case today.

While proceeding the provincial government’s report about enforcement of the constitution in Balochistan was also presented. While going through the report, the CJ asked as to why no comments about the missing persons’ case were
given.

He also said that the statements being given by the government were not correct and giving more attention to Balochistan would be beneficial not only for the government but also for the nation.

The Advocate General while appearing before the bench, informed the CJ that the situation in the province has been improved following the SC orders.

The supreme court bench ordered the Defence and Interior Secretaries along with the IGFC to sign the report presented by the provincial government.

The hearing of the case will now resume on July 31.
