The hottest news in the air is that the controversial queen Veena Malik has been brought back on Hero TV’s ‘Astaghfar’ show and she will now be hosting the show during the month of Ramadan.
Veena is in India for the past 2 years and she did many cheap things over there in order to gain publicity. She started an affair with actor Ashmit Patel during her stint in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house and later on she appeared nude with an ISI tattoo on her left shoulder on the cover page of a popular men’s magazine FHM India.
She did many other dirty and cheap things in India as a result to which people of Pakistan strongly reacted when Hero TV brought her on ‘Astaghfar’ for the first time.
The outcry across the country was so much that the channel decided to cancel the show, which was prepared for the Holy month of Ramadan.
“TV is for the awaam. If the awaam does not want to see Veena Malik on this Ramadan show, then we will cancel it,” a member of the production team was quoted as saying.
“The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has received Internet petitions calling for the show to be cancelled,” a Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) official stated at that time.
However, the situation has got another twist now as Hero TV has aired Veena Malik’s ‘Astaghfar’ show. Perhaps the channel took the risk to broadcast the show in order to cover up the loss which it had to bear for dropping Veena.
A four-minute clip is available on Youtube, in which Veena can be seen hosting the show.
Well, all said and done, the reaction from the people is yet to come but as far as Veena Malik is concerned, she is very happy.
Veena said, “I am very happy that my show ‘Astaghfar’ is going to be on air I thank ‘Allah’ for giving me such opportunity to host this show. It is people’s loves which has brought me back on the show.”
