Washington: (Tuesday, August 07, 2012) The gunman who attacked the Sikh temple in Wisconsin and killed six people has been identified as a former US Army “psychological operations specialist” confirmed the Pentagon on Monday.

Wade Michael Page, who also was shot dead by the police while inflicting the carnage onto the Sikh temple visitors, was a 40-years-old who served between April 1992 and October 1998. He ended his career at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Wade had received his basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma before moving to Fort Bliss in Texas.

Fort Bragg, the place where he finished his career, is the place deemed home for many of the US Army’s airborne units and its Special Operations Command.

Sharing details about killer, Pentagon said that Page was a qualified parachutist who also received a commendation medal, five achievement medals, two good conduct medals, the National Defense Service Medal and a Humanitarian Service
Medal.

He, however, due to personal reasons, had left at relatively junior scale of Specialist E-4.
