Laura Sogar and Michael Klueh win gold medals – US Open Swimming Championships

Laura Sogar and Michael Klueh won gold medals of Women’s 200m breaststroke and men’s 400m freestyle respectively at the 2012 US Open Swimming Championships.

Sogar devastated hopes of her opponents in the four-lap race as she reached the podium for gold medal. With her impeccable speed, she remained one stroke ahead of her closest swimmer and tapped the wall for gold medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 25.15
seconds.

Her tremendous effort was trailed by Andrea Kropp of Rattler Swim Club, who stayed 0.25 seconds slower from her former finisher and touched the wall for silver medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 25.40 seconds.

The second position holder was chased by Emily McClellan of J-Hawk Aquatic Club, who stayed 2.09 seconds away from her preceding swimmer and reached the medal rostrum for bronze medal by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 27.49 seconds.

McClellan was trailed by Haley Spencer of Minnesota Aquatics, who stayed almost 0.80 seconds apart and submitted a time of 2 minutes and 28.28 seconds for fourth position.

On the other hand, Klueh dominated the 400m discipline in Men’s corner. He remained one and a half body length ahead of his strongest swimmer and touched the wall with a timing of 3 minutes and 49.20 seconds for gold medal.

The gold medallist was followed by Michael McBroom of The Woodlands Swim Team, who remained 1.51 seconds apart and hit the finishing wall with a timing of 3 minutes and 50.71 seconds for silver medal.

McBroom was traced by Jacob Ritter of Una HSC, who made a significant improvement in his pace and stepped on the victory stand for bronze medal by touching the wall with an effort of 3 minutes and 53.09 seconds.

Fourth fastest spot of the race was secured by Adam Hinshaw of Palo Alto Stanford, who failed to prove his mettle for the podium and tapped the wall with a timing of 3 minutes and 53.86 seconds.

Furthermore, the championship ended after the completion of all planned events.
