Dusky beauty Bipasha Basu is playing a frustrated and jealous actress in Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming film ‘Raaz 3’ and her character is inspired by the life of none other than Bhatt’s ex-lover Ameesha Patel.

The 37-year-old Patel made her Bollywood debut in 2000 with a blockbuster hit ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ and later on she won critical praises for her magnificent performance in ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ (2001), which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema.

The actress did fine till 2003 but since then she hasn’t been able to impress audiences as a result to which she is now considered as one of the flop actresses of the industry.

Vikram said, “Well, all I can say is, all art is finally cannibalised from one’s personal experiences. When I was with Amisha, both of us were going through a career low. I’ve seen how failure affects people.”

“We took the basic idea of the insecurities that creep up on an actress after a few years in the business, and then we built on her desperation,” said Bhatt.

“The film shows the character urging her director (Emraan Hashmi) into wrongdoings. In her desperation to cling to her stardom she begins to workship a satan and practices black magic on her younger rival.”

The producer of the movie and Vikram’s mentor, Mahesh Bhatt, also admitted to the similarities.

While speaking on his inclusion, Bhatt explained: “Vikram shared details of his tumultuous relationship with this Amisha. Insecurities are an integral part of an actress’s life, as her shelf life is limited. We built on that idea to create Bipasha’s character in Raaz 3.”

Mahesh believes Bipasha has reached a do-or-die stage in her career as well. While talking to the media he said that Bips has recently suffered a broken heart and she hasn’t really given any blockbuster hit for some time now.

The producer reckons Bipasha is at a stage where she will sink like a rock or fly like a bird.

‘Raaz 3’ will hit the cinemas on September 7 but all left to see is how Ameesha Patel will respond to this situation.
