PM directs the federal cabinet to start preparing for elections

Islamabad: (Wednesday, August 15, 2012) Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in a meeting with the federal cabinet members, has directed them to start preparing for the upcoming elections. The PM said that Pakistan People’s Party
is a national party and has strong believes in free and fair elections.

The PM further said that on account of the Holy Night (Shab-e-Qadar) there would be no loadshedding tonight. During the meeting, recommendations of the parliamentary committee regarding a solution to power crisis also came under
discussion.

According to the sources, the cabinet also reviewed the report recommending solutions to the ongoing law and order situation in Balochistan. The report was prepared by a committee chaired by the minister for Defence, Naveed Qamar.
