Pooja Bhatt: Many people wanted Sunny Leone to fail!

The actor-turned-director Pooja Bhatt is on cloud nine these days since her recent film ‘Jism 2’ has done an excellent business at the box office.

‘Jism 2’ was one of the most eagerly awaited films of this year and the main reason behind was obviously the presence of the Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone.

Leone, who rose to fame during her stint in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, was holding the fort ever since Bhatt started her campaign for the film. However, Bhatt is aware that amidst all the buzz and hype surrounding Leone, there were quite a few who wanted her to have a successful Bollywood debut.

“The very fact that we were a bunch of people who did everything together on our own terms didn’t really go down well with a few,” Pooja said in her characteristic ‘andaaz’, “In fact I remember telling Sunny even before the film went on floors that there are more people who want her to fail than the ones who want her to succeed.”

Bhatts are known best for producing erotic films in the Hindi filmi industry since they have entertained audiences with films like ‘Murder’, ‘Murder 2’ and ‘Jism’ etc. Nevertheless, when asked Pooja she said she doesn’t know why people considered her a sex symbol before the release of ‘Jism 2’.

While speaking on her inclusion, Bhatt told the media that she could have easily portrayed Leone as-is in order to cash in entirely on her on-web image but she wanted her to basically fit into the ‘Jism 2’ template so she could narrate a story.

She said, “Thankfully Sunny, Randeep, Arunoday, Dino and myself have been a great team together and we went ahead with the right conviction.”

Well, all said and done, Sunny Leone has certainly made her place in the Bollywood industry now. She will now be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Ragini MMS 2’.

Meanwhile, Pooja Bhatt is planning to take ‘Jism’ franchise further ahead by making the third and fourth sequel and she is planning to make the sequels in 3D now.
