Evander Holyfield eager to fight Klitschko brothers

Former Undisputed World Champion in both cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, Evander Holyfield, is now 49 years old but still he has no plans of hanging his gloves rather the American pugilist wants to fight the best names in the heavyweight division, Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, who hold all of the world heavyweight titles collectively.

Holyfield, also known as ‘The Real Deal’, defeated Danish Brian Nelson last May and he now holds a record of winning 44 of his 57 professional fights (1 no contest), with 29 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.

Klitschko brothers have refused to fight Holyfield reasoning that they don’t want to beat someone they respect. Nevertheless, Holyfield doesn’t want them to pay attention to his age.

While speaking on his inclusion, Holyfield stated Klitschko can get the biggest payday of their life by fighting him and they should only look forward to it instead of his age.

“Age ain’t nothing but a number,” he told Sky Sports. “They have got an opportunity to probably make the biggest payday of their lives fighting Evander Holyfield.

“They are telling everyone that they respect me, and that they don’t want to beat me up.

“But I fought George Foreman, I fought Larry Holmes, and I said the same thing. I said that I wouldn’t get any credibility from beating someone older.

“They said ‘but, we are going to get you 20 million, what do you think?’.

“I said make sure that guy wants to fight me, because I don’t want it to look like I fought that older guy, but that he fought me.

“With the Klitschkos, they aren’t choosing to fight me, I’ve said I’ll fight them.”

Well, Evader Holyfield is certainly a living legend. Only a few can forget his fights with the likes of George Forman, Mike Tyson and a lot more.

Keeping these things in front, it is fair to say that his fight will with Wladimir or Vitali will be a complete sell out. Yet let’s see if Klitschko brothers really consider him as an opponent.
