Jelena Jankovic crushes Sorana Cirstea with a breadstick at the Texas Tennis Open – Tennis News

Former world number one, Jelena Jankovic of Serbia devastated the eighth seed, Sorana Cirstea, in straight sets at the Texas Tennis Open 2012 on Wednesday. She clobbered a 6-2, 6-1 victory against the Romanian number one to cruise into the semi-finals at
this WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) International event held in Dallas, Texas.

The Serbian beauty got the better of the 22-year-old for the first time in their third meeting. As a result, she not only avenged her loss at the Internazionali BNL D’Italia earlier this circuit but also cruised into the final four at this outdoor hard court
event.

The second seed blocked the lone breakpoint she faced to keep her entire serves. She cashed in five out of seven break chances to carve out the victory in one hour.

"I feel that I’m playing better and better with each match," Jankovic said. "I feel more comfortable, and I’m getting my confidence back. I really enjoy my time on court, competing and battling. I think I’m on the right track. It feels good to play some
good matches before the Open and get some good wins under my belt.

"It’s tough to get up in the morning and train. When things are not working out, you’ve got to find a way to get back and the only way you’re going to do that is by working hard. You can’t just sit in bed and wait for things to fall from the sky. I want
to play some good tennis again, and I’m trying to do that."

Next up for Jankovic is the Australian qualifier, Casey Dellacqua, who hit back from 0-3 down to oust Aleksandra Wozniak with a 6-4, 6-4 score line.
