PML-N shortlists names for caretaker PM

Islamabad: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar said here today that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has shortlisted names of 8-9 potential candidates for a caretaker prime minister.

Sharing the details, Nisar said that retired judges are also among the shortlisted names, however, the list does not comprise of anyone from Punjab.

Nisar, who was addressing a news conference, alleged that the government and its allies are not sincere in forming new province, and through their unnecessary clamor, they are only creating a spectacle. He further said that the PPP is only politicking on
the name of Southern Punjab.

Commenting on the mechanism for creation of new provinces, Nisar said that the formation of new provinces was the responsibility of the assemblies, and the government had no role to play in it.

While alleging that the PPP has been into rigging the by-polls, the leader of opposition also alleged President Asif Ali Zardari of buying of the anchors and television channels.

Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) recent move towards declaring assets of the party leaders, Nisar said that the PTI has done so on PML-N’s pressure, and that his party is preparing to publish a white paper against the PTI chairman.
