Amazon.com comes up with yet another good news. In a statement issued on Thursday, the company said that it has grabbed almost 22 percent of the US tablet market.

Although the company also stated that the tablet is currently out of stock, preceding news was good enough to overshadow it. However, they did not mention how many actually were sold since its release in November last year, nor did it state when it will be available again.

In addition, the company also mentioned that the top products sold on its website are all software and Kindle related. Since the release, the most commodities sold on Amazon.com have been Kindles, movies, audios and books, all related to Kindle tablets.

“We’re grateful to the millions of customers who have made Kindle Fire the most successful product launch in the history of Amazon,” Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com founder and CEO, said in a statement. “This has been a big year for digital products on Amazon — all of the top 10 sellers on Amazon.com since Kindle Fire launched just less than a year ago are digital products. Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting road map ahead.”

Amazon is expected to launch at least a new version of Kindle Fire at the September 6 press conference in Santa Monica, California. The invites have already been released. Many experts are of the opinion that Amazon might also release a new line of its e-readers that day.

The Kindle Fire was launched in October last year and was released to store shelves in November. It was the cheapest tablet computer at $199 with a vast and offering ecosystem. It competed directly with Apple’s iPad. However, since that time Google and Barnes and Noble have introduced their tablets as well. Google released its $199 Nexus 7 in July this year.
