Directed by Milan Luthria, Vidya Balan’s starrer ‘The Dirty Picture’ broke many records at the box office and also won a National Award. However, Rani Mukerji says she wouldn’t have agreed to the film, if she was in Balan’s place. The actress said the same about Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Heroine’, which is slated to hit the cinemas on September 21.

The 34-year-old firebrand recently had an interview with TOI, in which she said she would have said no the films because they show the negative side of industry. The actress insisted films should show the positive side of the industry as well and also the hard work which actors put in.

She said, “Frankly, no. Both these films revolve around the film industry. When I am playing a character that is based on the film industry, I would want to project it the way I have seen things. Even when Zoya Akhtar offered me Luck By Chance, I refused because of the same reason. There is a tendency to sensationalise films that are based on our industry. But it isn’t just about controversy and sensationalism. There is also hard work, focus, dedication, too. I know no one wants to see this side because it is boring. But I would like to do a film keeping this other side in mind.”

Nevertheless, in the end, Rani admitted that Balan did a great job in the film and she is also hoping the same from Kareena.

She added, “Coming back to The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan was brilliant in it and I know Kareena will rock it with Heroine.”

Rani Mukerji has made a comeback after a gap of one and a half year with Sachin Kundalkar’s film ‘Aiyyaa’, in which she will play a role opposite to South actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film will be released on October 12.

The actress will also be seen in Amir Khan’s ‘Talaash’, which is scheduled for the release on November 30.

Well, all said and done, let’s see if Rani Mukerji can still impress the audiences with her magnificent acting.
