Kenneth To and Brianna Throssell win semi-finals – EnergyAustralia SC Championships

Kenneth To and Brianna Throssell win semi-finals of Men’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) and Women’s 100m butterfly respectively at the 2012 EnergyAustralia Short Course Championships.

To demonstrated his immaculate efforts in the discipline as he remained one and a half body length ahead of his closest challenger and touched the wall with a wonderful timing of 52.32 seconds.

The fastest qualifying swimmer was followed by Tommaso D’Orsogna, who stayed 1.35 seconds apart and hit the wall with a nice timing of 53.67 seconds for second position.

D’Orsogna was chased by Sam Beinke, who stayed almost one body length slower from his preceding swimmer and ended his race in a time of 54.53 seconds.

Fourth best spot of the race was secured by Justin James, who stayed 0.14 seconds slower from his former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 54.67 seconds.

James was trailed by Tim Halliday, who was almost 0.80 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 55.46 seconds for fifth position.

Afterwards, Throssell occupied first position in the Women’s butterfly event. With her impeccable efforts, Throssell was only an inch ahead of her closest swimmer and touched the wall with a nice effort of 58.61 seconds.

The second position holder was traced by Brittany Elmslie, who remained 0.26 seconds apart and qualified into the playoff with a wonderful timing of 58.87 seconds.

Elmslie was followed by Nicole Mee, who stayed 0.25 seconds slower and reached the finishing end as third best finisher by submitting a time of 59.12 seconds.

Fourth best qualifying position of the event was obtained by Amy Smith, who suffered a deficit of 0.10 seconds from her preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with an effort of 59.22 seconds.

Smith was trailed by Jemma Schlicht, who remained 0.07 seconds slower from her former finisher and proved her mettle for fifth best spot of the event by touching the wall with an effort of 59.29 seconds.

In addition, these swimmers will face each other in the playoff of their respective events to prove their mettle for gold medal.
