Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has pledged that his party would improve the law and order situation in Karachi if it comes into power.

While speaking to the media during his visit to flood affected areas, the cricketer-turned-politician said that the situation in the mega city couldn’t improve unless a non-political system is developed.

Commenting on the upcoming elections, he categorically said that his party wouldn’t make any kind of political or electoral alliance with political parties sitting in the parliament presently. He observed, “The time has come that a new Pakistan comes into being”.

He asked the government why it wasted the time of the Supreme Court and the nation if it was going to write the letter to the Swiss authorities against President Asif Ali Zardari.

He noted, “President Zardari did all this just to save his five billion dollars that were in the Swiss Bank but the president should not be happy because this wealth should come under accountability”.

While replying to a query about the Karachi factory fire incident, Khan was of the opinion that it was the biggest cruelty that has been done to the poor by the politically powerful people.

The government is only making big claims to rescue the rain-affected people but situation is different at the ground level, he added.

The former captain stated, “The government did not learn its lessons from the earlier floods. The irrigation system had completely failed and yet no planning was done for the areas despite predictions of rain by the Metrological department”.

While commenting on the issue of minorities, he assured that his party would protect all the minorities in the country, clarifying that he hadn’t come here to collect votes.

He made it clear that the PTI is the party of all Pakistanis rather only Sindhi or Punjabi people.

He asked the masses to hold corrupt politicians and rulers accountable, saying that the tsunami of the PTI will sweep away all these so called public supported politicians in the coming elections.

After coming into power, Imran Khan said that his party would ensure that taxpayers’ money was spent on the welfare of the people rather than going in accounts of ministers.
