Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is probably considered as the closest to the three Khans (Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir), when it comes to the box office numbers yet the actor is as down-to-earth as always.
While speaking on his inclusion, Akshay insisted he is not hungry for success and he is happy with whatever God has given him.
He told TOI, “I’m not hungry for success. I am only hungry for good work and that is how it is with most superstars.”
Akshay is known best for his action sequences. Only a few can forget his ‘Khiladi’ series, which included films like “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi” (1996), “Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi” (1997), “International Khiladi” (1999), and “Khiladi 420” (2000).
The actor is now making a comeback to the ‘Khiladi’ franchise with his production ‘Khiladi 786’ and he admits that the ‘Khiladi’ tag never went away from him.
Akshay, whose ‘Khiladi 786’ is scheduled to hit the cinemas on December 7, also added that he really enjoyed making of the film.
“I feel great about it. It had never gone away from me, I always used to do risks and it’s great because ‘Khiladi’ is a word which means a player, a sportsman. You can connect it with anything, so it’s great coming back to it,” the 45-year-old said.
Many out there feels money makes Akshay’s world go around. Nevertheless, when asked the actor, he completely denied and cleared the air.
He said, “It is wrong. I know the economics of the film business. I know about real-estate, and I’m also knowledgeable about the Sensex. But that hardly means I’m a money-minded guy. I have a head for numbers and I don’t think that is anything to be ashamed of.
“However, I do not over-charge. I have said this 10 times before and I repeat — on paper my fee for a film is zero because I don’t charge remuneration, like some actors do.”
Well, all said and done, let’ s see if Akshay Kumar can still impress the audiences with his action sequences in ‘Khiladi 786’.
