PPP bringing the common man with Syed Zahid Bokhari’s plans to run for National Assembly

In an article written in ‘The News’ recently, which claimed that the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has run short of candidates to field in the upcoming elections, especially in Lahore, seems to have been debunked as insider information, mentioning the plans of the nation’s largest political party gearing up to position the common man for National Assembly and Provincial Assembly seats.

It is a fact that Zulifqar Ali Bhutto gained the largest majority in the National and Provincial Assemblies by following this method by awarding party tickets to the common man and hard workers of the party and it seems now that this is what the PPP is planning on doing again.

With many people around Lahore knowing what kind of person Syed Zahid Bokhari advocate is, traveling in Johar Town and especially Wafaqi Colony, it is not hard to notice that the party is planning on nominating him as their next candidate in the general elections for the NA-126 seat.

After a PML-N candidate won the previous elections, it seems like this is good news for the people of that constituency since the PML-N candidate is reported to not have been active in the area ever since being elected and the people are grieving for someone who is actually aware of their problems and issues to come and take the stage.

This is the first time that Zahid Bokhari is planning on running for Member of National Assembly and according to party insiders, his status of being not only a common man, but also a person who has been working in that area for the past 40-plus years is just something that proves that he is someone they can trust and look forward to in solving their issues.

It is known around that area that this man has been a social worker and active in that part of society for decades and has literally seen Johar Town and surrounding areas become a main urban area of Lahore from just being a jungle.

From donating parts of his own land around that very area to the poor and needy along with fighting for the people whenever they are in need. Whether it be in the courts, through the World Relief Commission he created years ago, or on the streets, Zahid Bokhari certainly proves why he became a lawyer through practical implementation and being a real advocate for the people.

While the Pakistan People’s Party might not be believed to be able to win the upcoming elections from a place like Lahore, nominating someone who has worked for the people without any benefit from the party banner he has stood under ever since its creation is one factor that just might shock the opposition later on next year.

There is wide belief amongst the people that now, the time has come to actually select someone who is willing to work for them instead of under the influence of someone else or for personal interests and for the people of Johar Town, Wahdat Colony, Gulberg, Liberty, Faisal Town, Model Town, Township, Garden Town, Muslim Town, Iqbal Town, Makkah Colony, Wafaqi Colony, Nasirabad, Rehmanpura, Gulshan Iqbal and Pakki Thathi of the NA-126 constituency, it seems like that time has finally come.

Breaking the barriers of conventional election campaigning, Zahid Bokhari is active on social media channels and can currently be reached on Facebook, where people can read his biography, and contact him at any time of the day either at his residence or through the phone.

He was also one of the, if not the first person to organize a peaceful and meaningful protest demonstration against the blasphemous film against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from that area and continues to stay active with all matters.

The most surprising part is unlike other politicians who are extremely tough to get a hold of, Zahid Bokhari is probably the easiest person to meet in that area and has been, according to the people that have lived there for many years. It is also come to my knowledge that he was originally a member of the People’s Student Federation back in the 1970’s when Bhutto was in power and for the people, his loyalty just proves that changing parties for the fulfillment of vested interests is not something he plans on doing anytime soon.

The decision of not choosing a wadera, kabza group, or elite class member of society and going with a commoner definitely goes to show that the PPP is looking to win and they have finally realized that going with their true workers is key to winning.

If rumors of the PPP having sent his name for the NA-126 seat are true, than they can rest assured that Syed Zahid Bokhari will be giving anyone that stands against him, especially those that have never taken any interests in the affairs of the common people of that area, a tough time in the upcoming general elections.
