Eriko Hirose outplays Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in semi-final clash at Yonex Japan Open

Eriko Hirose, the most promising player from Japan, played remarkable badminton and managed to reach into Women’s Singles final after showing exit to Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk semi-final showdown at Yonex Japan Open Super Series 2012 at Tokyo,
Japan, on September 22.

The World Number 22 Hirose, who has been showing an impressive progress in her skills for the last few months, put up wonderful show and stunned the World Number 13 Porntip who was Porntip who was sixth seeded player in the tournament.

The lower ranked Hirose was impressive in all departments of the game and she remained successful in finishing up the contest in straight games by working to her maximum potential for 44 minutes on court.

In the meanwhile, sixth seeded Porntip failed to play her normal game as she could not control the pace of the game and remained struggling against her un-seeded Japanese Opponent.

The Thai shuttler could not continue her winning run in the tournament and crashed out at the semi-final stage.

In the first game of this interesting contest, both ladies showed wonderful aggression on court and also remained close at in opening rallies.

Higher ranked Porntip employed all of her skills to push her Japanese rival on back foot but failed to create pressure on the Japanese shuttler who was quick in taking the bird early.

The score progressed in a tight fashion and both players remained neck-to-neck until the end of first half in opening game.

Hirose did not let her challenger to take control of rallies after the mid-game interval as she played with precision and managed to win the opening set with a close margin of 21-19.

Hirose was everywhere in the second set as she did not let her Thai opponent to put up strong resistance this time and took a reasonable lead until the end of first half.

In the concluding half, the incredible Hirose remained consistent in her positive play and she did not face any trouble in winding up the second set with a smashing 21-13 score on the board.

The aggressive Hirose easily overpowered Porntip in this semi-final contest with a dominating margin of 21-19 and 21-13.
