Directed by Dutch filmmaker Laurens Postma the Indian film ‘Cover Story’ has been in the making for quite some time. The film, which will feature Anjum Nayyar and Jackie Sharoff in the lead roles, was supposed to release last year but it got delayed due to various unknown reasons. However, it is now being released close to the heels of Madhur Bhandarkar’s much-talked about film ‘Heroine’, which featured Kareena Kapoor in the lead role.
Released on September 21, ‘Heroine’ was based on the life of an actress and ‘Cover Story’ also deals with the life of a heroine, which is discovered by a journalist. Perhaps this is a reason why a considerable amount of people believe there will be a lot of similarities between both films.
Nevertheless, Anjum has claimed that her film is quite different than Kareena’s starrer.
“Cover Story is very different from Kareena’s film. It talks about a nobody who went on to become a somebody,” said Anjum Nayyar.
“When you struggle to become a star, you can’t go wrong with your success and respect your hard work. I don’t think Kareena’s film has anything like that, though I haven’t seen the film yet, I have heard about it from my friends. I don’t think it will affect our film in any way,” she added.
Anjum said, “I must confess I love Kareena. Cover Story has an international technique of story telling while Kareena’s film is essentially about Bollywood.”
In the end, the actress explained why he previously changed her name to Sheena.
“Some people in Mumbai suggested I change my name since it wasn’t good enough for the film industry. So I changed my name to Sheena. But, when I lost my father, who I was emotionally attached to, I decided to get back to my original name Anjum,” she said.
Anjum also revealed that her father’s illness was one of the reasons why the film got delayed.
Well, all said and done, let’s see if Anjum Nayyar overshadows Kareena Kapoor with her performance in ‘Cover Story’.
