The veteran director Yash Chopra, who has worked with Shah Rukh Khan on seven of his films, has said that the superstar has faith in him and he never discusses money or scripts with him.

Speaking to PTI, he said: “I have always had great experience working with him. He is one actor who has never asked me what the story is about, how much money he will charge… whatever amount I send him through cheque he takes that and rather asks me why I gave such a huge amount.

“He does not meet me before we start shooting, he says I don’t want to know the story, don’t want to talk about money so why to meet. It is all because he has faith in me.”

The 46-year-old, who is often referred to as the King of Bollywood, worked with Chopra for the first time in 1993 in ‘Darr’ and the director says since then he started sharing a special equation with him.

Khan hosted a live ‘In Conversation’ interview with Chopra on September 27 to mark Chopra’s 60 years on film and the occasion of his 80th birthday.

The superstar of Hindi Cinema described Chopra as ‘more than a father figure’ for him and insisted that every actor should work with him at least once in his/her career.

In the end, Chopra commented about his much-anticipated upcoming film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, which will feature Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.

Chopra said: “After Veer-Zaara I wanted to make something different and nice… [a] soul-touching film. That is when I told Aditya, my son, that I want to direct a film. This film is a gift to me by Aditya. He told me, ‘Make the film dad, and I am there to provide all kind of help’.”

Chopra left everyone flabbergasted by revealing that ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ would be his directorial venture. So let’s see how much the film, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on November 13, generates at the box office.
