The undefeated prospect from Rosemead, Carlos Molina, will lock horns with Amir Khan in December and he is confident of upsetting the former IBF & WBA light welterweight champion.

Although full details of the fight have not been revealed as of yet, it will take place somewhere in United States.

Paul McCloskey’s name was also being linked with Khan but Molina has confirmed that he is the one who will be fighting the Brit.

“I was contacted early in the week and was told that my name was being mentioned by Khan’s people,” Molina told World Boxing News.

“The fight is basically set and now we are just looking for a site to hold the fight but it is definitely on.”

While speaking on his inclusion with the ‘World Boxing News’, the 26-year-old insisted that he is going to give Khan his best shot because he knows a win over him will lead him to bigger fights.

Molina said, “I am just going to fight my fight and give Khan hell and I know I will come out victorious in the fight.

“Beating Khan will open the doors to a world title for me and bigger opportunities in the future.”

Khan suffered back to back defeats at the hands of Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia and his career is on the brink of failure now. Therefore, the Bolton man is not in a mood to take any risks. He has also changed his trainer. Nevertheless, Moline has claimed nothing will be changed in this thing.

“Khan fought two solid opponents in Garcia and Peterson and came up short, but there will be no break for him and the same will happen when he fights me.

“I am ready for anything that comes in the fight.”

In the end, Molina said he is currently focused on beating Khan because he wants to set up a mega-fight with Ricky Hatton.

“Right now I’m just focused on Khan and beating him, but I would love a fight with Hatton. Khan is first, but you never know what can happen,” Molina emphasized.
