Ashton Baumann and Caroline Baddock win gold medals – New Zealand SC Championships

Ashton Baumann and Caroline Baddock won gold medals of the Men’s 100m breaststroke and Women’s 100m backstroke at the State 2012 New Zealand Short Course Championships.

He remained just a touch away from his following swimmer and hit the wall for gold medal with a splendid time of 1 minute and 00.38 seconds.

The champion was trailed by Jeffrey Arona-Tuifana’e, who stayed 0.11 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end as second best finisher with a nice timing of 1 minute and 00.49 seconds.

Tuifana’e was traced by Ben Walsh, who stayed 1.73 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 02.23 seconds for bronze medal.

Walsh was chased by George Schroder, who was 0.58 seconds apart and tapped the wall for fourth position with a timing of 1 minute and 02.81 seconds.

Fifth finest spot of the race was obtained by Julian Layton, who was 0.26 seconds behind and clocked a time of 1 minute and 03.07 seconds.

Afterwards, Baddock occupied gold medal of the Women’s 100m backstroke. She showed no mercy to her rivals in the backstroke discipline and occupied gold medal of the race with a timing of 59.88 seconds.

The gold medallist was chased by Kate Godfrey, who stayed 1.68 seconds behind and tapped the wall for silver medal with a timing of 1 minute and 01.56 seconds.

Godfrey was followed by Laura Quilter, who stayed 0.11 seconds apart and earned bronze medal of the event by producing a time of 1 minute and 01.67 seconds.

Fourth best spot of the race was secured by Rima Williams, who remained 0.80 seconds apart and settled on the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 02.47 seconds.

Similarly, Williams was trailed by Ebony Maikuku, who stayed 0.08 seconds apart and finished fifth in the event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 02.55 seconds.

In addition, the arena admired scintillating forms of all swimmers while the position holders received awards and accolades for their notable efforts in their exclusive events.
