Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that neither army nor the Taliban are against his Waziristan March but the government is opposing it, inviting the people to join his peace-march.

Addressing a press conference, the cricketer-turned-politician said people from abroad were coming to take part in the rally.

Reiterating his claim that peace in Pakistan was not possible without getting ourselves out of the American war against terror, he said the drone attacks were being carried out in Waziristan with the approval of the government.

The former cricketer said that it would be a historic march and would go a long way in changing the lives of the Waziristan people.

He said that the US drone attacks were producing militants in Pakistan, adding that 40,000 people have been killed in the war against terror.

Khan added more than 200 journalists from west will go along with peace rally, adding that they would help in raising voices against drone strikes.

In reply to a question, he said the participants will come back before night as he doesn’t want to put the lives of his guests into trouble.

The PTI leader said that tribesmen have welcomed the peace march and there is no reason why the administration should try to stop it.

Earlier, the PTI leader had announced to take out a rally to South Waziristan against the US drone attacks along with thousands of people, including international civil society activists.

However, the local as well as provincial administration opposed the idea, denying the permission to the peace-march.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik expressed fears that there can be a suicide attack on the peace march

Earlier, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that Imran Khan was unaware of the ground and no adventurism could be allowed in Waziristan.

The marchers will begin journey from Islamabad on October 6 in the morning and will have a night stay in the city of Dera Ismail Khan.

It will resume march on October 7 in the morning and will reach Kotkai, a small town at the entrance of the tribal region.

There is no need to fear the Taliban.

The real threat to the rally are the silent killer drones in the sky, who will certainly be watching the rally from above with Hellfire missles lock and loaded for Code Pink lady Americans who dare threaten US policy in Pakistan.
