Why a ‘Peace March to Waziristan’ is not the solution

When a certain organization declines to accept the writ of the government, continues to enforce their point of view on what Islam is and blow up children’s schooling facilities, taking out a ‘Peace March to Waziristan’ is no solution whatsoever.

With the Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjab Faction continuously threatening Imran Khan’s caravan of ‘Serious Consequences’ if they go ahead with their rally towards the no-go area, putting the lives of many a people at such serious risk is nothing other than outright ignorance. When the government has even denied the idea of allowing so many people to go there, Imran Khan should take into consideration that this is not the time to score political points for his party.

The only real solution to solving the problems of those areas where the law enforcement agencies have given up so much, is to actually contribute by going against those who go against the nation as a whole. How can one negotiate with people who are in no mood of settling until and unless they are allowed total control of a specific region? How can terrorists, who consider people from southern areas to be non-Muslims and infidels, be negotiated with?

Islam is a liberal religion and they do not have the right of enforcing their point of views on anyone and standing against that is the only way we can counter them as a nation. Where have the free and liberal thinking people of this country gone? They are hiding in their homes or abroad for the lives of not only their loved ones, but whosoever they keep contact with.

If teaming with the rebels was the best option than America would not have left them behind after their war with Russia. The Americans are smart in a way since they knew the mentality of these people and how Zia-ul-Haq openly welcomed them and their Kalashnikov culture into Pakistan, turning it around forever.

Drone attacks are obviously unacceptable and are a major breach of a country’s sovereignty and they must stop at all costs, but negotiating with people who have freely killed hundreds of thousands of Pakistani’s by calling them supporters of the Jewish lobby is a disgrace for those who lost their lives in what has become our war.

Ultimately, cleansing those areas of extremists and narrow minded thinkers will be possible only through enforcing the writ of the government, providing justice to the people and educating on what really Islam is and what it teaches its followers.
