Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday said that some people were desirous of media projection under the guise of patriotism.

He said, “The people of Pakistan think of me as a representative of Islam and Pakistan, while they label Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan as an agent of the Jews and the West.”

Addressing a press conference, the experienced politician said people of Waziristan know that Imran is the representative of the Western powers.

He noted, “We have no objection to anybody’s going to Sukkur, Miranshah, Peshawar, Multan, Karachi and Balochistan but the question is that he must have some vision and programme.”

In his view, speaking about Imran Khan’s failures a useless exercise as Khan lacks vision and only wants publicity in the international media.

“We don’t mistreat our guests, we serve them with better things”, he added.

Maulana further stated that some people were desirous for media coverage under the guise of patriotism, adding that they must keep in mind that such tactics were insufficient and unsatisfactory to remove stumbling blocks in the way of peace and tranquility.

The JUI-F leader said that the government couldn’t be run by fraudulent means and tactics. It requires sincere, committed and hardworking rulers to lead the caravan of Ummah, he added.

He said, “Imperialist forces have been engaged in a planned manner to seize the resources of undeveloped countries while the international organizations are creating economic upheaval to establish their control on developing states.”

He said the war against terrorism, in fact, aimed at fomenting militancy in the region.

Responding to accusations made by Khan with regard to his peace march, Rehman said that if PTI chairman had asked him, he would have invited him over to his house.

Khan is clueless about the tribal customs and traditions as he was not brought up in this culture, he pledged.

Replying to a question regarding the dual nationality case, Rehman said his party is against dual nationals contesting elections. “I think this trend of imported parliamentarians should end now,” he said.
