Army, Government to attack Waziristan using Malala; Says Fazlur Rehman

Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the government and Pakistan Army were using the Malala incident to launch operation in North Waziristan.

Addressing a public gathering in Sukkur, the religious leader said that some people were playing politics on the Malala issue and making efforts to suppress the religious parties.

He noted, “Malala Yousafzai is my daughter and I strongly condemn the attack on her life and if you want to safeguard your daughter and want her to return home safely from school, you have to reject the incumbent leadership and elect religious leadership.”

He said that those who were asking religious parties to condemn Malala attack should first denounce attacks on seminaries.

He indicated towards MQM chief order to collect information of seminaries, saying that no one has the right to collect information of mosques and seminaries.

He also said that it seemed that Pakistan was made for abductions, killings and extortion and our law enforcement authorities weren’t able arrest the abductors.

He said there was no sectarian violence when the leadership of the subcontinent was in the hands of clerics. Sectarian violence, according to him, started in the 20th century, when South Asia was taken over by the leadership which had received education from Oxford and other Western institutions.

He said violence which started in 20th century, continued in the 21st century.

The JUI-F chief asserted, “The vested interests are busy stoking hatred between Shias and Sunnis, Baloch and Pakhtuns, Punjabis and Pakhtuns, Sindhis and Muhajirs. You have to switch over to Islamic leadership to get rid of these problems.”

In his view, the law and order situation had turned abysmal be it Fata, Balochistan, or Sindh. He question that how can they improve law and order when 70% of the budget is spent on defence and there was nothing left for the common people.

He stated that they had failed to do something for the welfare of the poor, except blaming each other for corruption.

He further said that the country’s economy cannot be improved by blaming each other. “We have to get rid of the IMF and depend on our own resources to become self sufficient”, he added.

by the way… military operations, if needed, should be decided by the government and the army both, considering the internal dynamics of the country it is important to comprehend the timings and magnitude of military operation in FATA / NWA…
u, me or fazl paaijan are all naive for this decision… let the experts handle the case.
    good luck to Pakistan
