Olga Konon trounces Elizabeth Cann in Women’s Singles first round at Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold

Germany’s upcoming shuttler Olga Konon lived up to the expectations of her home fans as she overpowered England’s Elizabeth Cann in Women’s Singles first round at Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Wednesday, October 31, at Saarbrucken, Germany.

The impressive German shuttler showed her elevated skills on court and remained successful in registering her English rival in a completely dominating fashion in just 28 minutes.

Olga played in a dictating manner as she played with precision and managed to end up the match in straight sets with an incredible margin on score board.

On the other hand, the experienced Elizabeth failed to play her normal game as she remained struggling to find a good flow and ultimately crashed out with a humiliating margin on score board in two sets.

Olga delivered remarkable performance from the starting rallies of first set as she played with spectacular speed and took over the control of the game.

In the second set, Elizabeth again failed to find a good rhythm as she could not cope up with the impressive speed of her rival and remained struggling throughout the opening half.

On the contrary, Olga displayed her incredible skills on court by taking the bird early and kept an upper hand over her English rival without having any trouble.

In the ending half, the lofty Olga continued her comfortable run and easily took the set by a comfortable margin of 21-16.

The in-form Olga emerged as victorious in this opening round battle against Elizabeth with a dominating 21-9 and 21-16 score on the board.
