Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk beats Sattawat Pongnairat in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Hong Kong Open

Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk worked really hard to overpower his spirited USA shuttler Sattawat Pongnairat in Men’s Singles qualifying round contest at Hong Kong Open Super Series 2012 on October 20, in Hong Kong.

The impressive Saensomboonsuk, who has been showing good performance at international level in the recent months, employed all of his skills and managed to defeat his American rival in a thrilling battle.

Thai shuttler Saensomboonsuk had to employ all of his skills in the arena and he remained successful in beating his challenger in hard-fought rubber games with a reasonable margin.

In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Pratama put up strong show playing remarkable badminton throughout the match. However, he failed to overpower his challenger in the battle and lost it but not before snatching a game.

In the first set, Saensomboonsuk played better badminton in the following game and remained aggressive on court which assisted him to create pressure on his challenger.

The in-form Saensomboonsuk played aggressive badminton in the ending points of first set and won it with a one-sided 21-10 margin on the board.

However, the USA shuttler played with remarkable speed in the second game as he did not show any respect to his Thai rival and took a staggering lead until the break.

In the concluding half, Saensomboonsuk played to his maximum potential but failed to stop his rival and eventually lost the set with a humiliating margin of 13-21.

In the deciding set, both players remained toe-to-toe at the starting stage of the match and no one could set up a reasonable lead until the end of opening half.

After the break, Saensomboonsuk controlled the game by playing with remarkable precision in the arena and remained successful in winning the set with a 21-16 score on the board.

Saensomboonsuk emerged as the winner in this Men’s Singles qualifying round of Hong Kong Open as he defeated Pongnairat in hard fought three games by taking 43 minutes with a thrilling score of 21-10, 10-21 and 21-16.
