Taking a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s chairperson Imran Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said Problems of Pakistan couldn’t be miraculously resolved in 90 days as claimed by some politicians.

Speaking at a public gathering in Swat, the former two-timer premier said that the politicians contending for upcoming general elections should talk about realistic solutions to solve people’s problems and termed the promises made by politicians as mere election gimmicks.

He observed, “I get scared when I think about the problems prevailing in Pakistan at the moment. Karachi is burning, while security situation in Balochistan is on a downward spiral. When we come into power, we will make things happen – we have the background to prove our credibility.”

Regarding Karachi situation, Nawaz Sharif said that the entire nation is worried about it. He said that the traders and industrialists are also disturbed over issues like extortion and kidnapping for ransom. He reminded that he had not hesitated even to dissolve his coalition government with MQM in Sindh over murder of Hakim Saeed in 1998.

The PML-N leader said that it was only his party that had the team which was equipped mentally and practically to deal with the problems of Pakistan. The politicians should forget about ruling over people” and said that it was about time that politicians started to serve people, he added.

Sharif further stated, “You [politicians] should enter politics only if you have the intent to serve the people. He said that his party, the PML-N, had always considered politics as “a means of serving people.”

He said the way an independent and autonomous Election Commission has been set up, similarly, setting up of such caretaker governments upon which everyone is agreed is essential in center and provinces for general elections.

Nawaz sahib, IK did not ever mentioned that he would resolve all of Pakistan’s problems in 90 days. He said he would eradicate major corruptions in 90 days. Just to clarify to you so there is not confusion, by major corruption, he is refering to money that people like you and Zardari are stealing. Kapesh?

It is very hard for Nawaz sharif to understand, that promises that Imran Khan speak will be kept, unlike promises he make are gimmick to win election. Nawaz Sharif know how to keep a promise to his brother that no matter what his brother does, he will appoint him as Chief Minister Punjab and would not interfere in looting of Bank of Punjab government account. Nawaz Sharif know how to keep promise to people of Pakistan, when he approves development project in Raiwind only, but nowhere else and make money off the contractor who won these project bids
