Kumpoo Macau Open: Yuekun Chen demolishes Ji Hoon Hong in Men’s Singles quarter-final

China’s talented shuttler Yuekun Chen showed a staggering performance on court and stormed into Men’s Singles semi-final after defeating Korea’s Ji Hoon Hong in quarter-final clash at Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 on Friday, November 30, in Macau.

The un-seeded Yuekun, who has been making his presence strongly felt to the world in all of his matches at Macau Open, played with remarkable precision in the arena and managed to end up the match in just 37 minutes.

Chinese shuttler continued his smooth sailing in the tournament without facing any potential threat from his Korean challenger and easily defeated him in straight games with a tremendous margin on the board.

On the other hand, the Korean player failed to continue his winning run in the arena and remained struggling in all areas of the court. He tried his best but failed to stop his rival from winning the match in a dominating manner.

The unmatched speed and attacking shots of Yuekun helped him to take control of the pace from the starting rallies of first set.

The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first set and Yuekun entertained local crowd with his unmatched craft.

Until the end of starting half of starting set, the in-form Yuekun attained a strong position on board by establishing a reasonable lead.

The match proceeded in the same fashion after the one-minute interval as Yuekun did not lose his focus on court.

It was a smooth sailing for the in-form Yuekun who did not face any reasonable opposition from his rival and won the first set with a superb 21-14 margin on the board.

Ji Hoon was once again in all sorts of trouble in the second game as he received a cruel treatment from his rival who was flawless on court.

Yuekun entertained the crowd with his unparalleled craft that assisted him to keep pressure on his challenger who failed to produce good form.

The aggressive and positive play in the concluding part of second set assisted Yuekun to earn the set with a sound 21-15 total on the board.

The lofty Chinese shuttler emerged as victorious in this Men’s Singles quarter-final clash at 21-14 and 21-15 score on the board.
