Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah on Wednesday said President Asif Ali Zardari will not lead the election campaign nor become a part of it in the upcoming polls.

Speaking to the media, the senior leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) applauded Asif Ali Zardari for his role as the president of Pakistan.

President Zardari has been tangled in a court case pertaining to him holding dual offices. A Lahore High Court (LHC) bench had issued an order against the president holding a political office and conducting political activities in the presidency.

Recently, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s political plans were also revealed. Bilawal is expected to begin his electoral politics career and public relations campaign from Larkana on December 27 this year – the date of his mother, Benazir Bhutto’s, death anniversary.

Syed Khurshid Ali Shah said the apex court should order delimitation of constituencies throughout country, not only in Karachi. Reacting to SC decision in Balochistan Case, he said it was not the job of judiciary to declare any government as constitutional or unconstitutional.

“Courts should not give verdicts that can create problems in future for everyone,” Khurshid said. He said Asghar Khan Case has been buried and government will not hand over Nawaz Sharif to FIA. “Some elements are trying their utmost to create bad blood between political forces,” he said.

The Supreme Court should order delimitation of constituencies throughout country, adding that delimitation only in Karachi will create an impression of partiality. He said Bilawal Bhutto will not take part in elections due to age factor, he said.

The PPP leader further replying to a query said talks with Opposition regarding caretaker setup have not started as yet.
