P. V. Sindhu beats Sapsiree Taerattanachai in Women’s Singles semi-final at Syed Modi International

India’s upcoming player P. V. Sindhu displayed her incredible skills and secured her berth in Women’s Singles final after crushing Thailand’s Sapsiree Taerattanachai in semi-final contest at Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Saturday, December 22, in Lucknow.

The second seeded Sindhu, who remained impressive throughout the tournament, cheered her home fans by ending up the winning run of her Thai challenger who was the third seeded player in Women’s Singles category.

Local shuttler played with impressive speed in all areas of the court and remained successful in crushing her challenger in straight games in straight games while taking just 39 minutes on the court.

On the contrary, the lower ranked Sapsiree could not play positive badminton as she failed to play aggressive badminton and eventually crashed out against her local rival without displaying her impressive skills.

Sindhu showed an amazing aggression in the arena from the starting rallies of first set by building a huge pressure on her rival.

The speed of the rallies was very fast in starting set and Sindhu impressed local crowd with her unmatched skills.

Sindhu progressed with a superb speed in the first part and stayed in lead on score board until the one-minute interval.

The incredible Sindhu remained confident in the arena after the mid-game interval as she played with the same speed.

It was a smooth sailing for the aggressive Sindhu who did not face any considerable fight from her opponent and won the first game with a sound 21-12 difference on the board.

Sapsiree was again in problem in the following set as she received a severe treatment from her opponent who was flawless on court.

The hard to return smashes and net killings kept Sindhu ahead of her challenger all the way until the one-minute interval in second set.

Sindhu continued putting up staggering show in the ending part of second set and remained successful in clinching the game with a stunning 21-14 score on score board.

The Indian lady made her presence strongly felt to the world by crushing Sapsiree in Women’s Singles semi-final of Syed Modi International with a superb margin of 21-12 and 21-14.
