One of the leading cellular services of Pakistan which has more than 30 million customers now starts a new way of increasing its top-ups.
It says, “UFone Brings Monthly 24 Hours Unlimited Calls Package Just in 100+Tax. Send SMS To 4814 | Active UFone Monthly Unlimited Calls Offer”.
Now when user top ups sufficient balance to avail this package by sending empty message at 4814, they receive the message, ‘Dear Customer, you are not part of this offer.’
After some hours, Ufone sends another message saying, ‘Dear Customer. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please ignore the message you have received earlier today. Thanks’
When user calls customer support and asks about how to subscribe to this package, it responds that Ufone has not such package at the present.
Apparently, the company is just playing a trick to increase the top-ups. When asked about why the company sends messages to avail the offers, the CSR are ignorant.
It is really astonishing to compare the claim Vs reality. Isn’t it a lie, a fraud an effort to be fooled our unaware subscribers who are also a victim of democracy and political corruption. I wouldn’t compare Ufone with our political system had they launched this package without claiming to be the cheapest in the market.
In Pakistan Consumer Rights are either nonexistent or non functional. There are speeches and ceremonies by PTA, CRCP which are held every now and then but in actual they all become ignorant whenever a consumer is hurt or a public fraud is designed. The authorities should investigate the actual facts in all their campaigns and claims.
