Information Minister Kaira rejects possibility of election delay

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that election will be held on time and there is no possibility of delay in this regard.

 

Speaking to media, he said no one could become Bhutto by just pushing mikes aside. For becoming Bhutto one has to render sacrifices.

 

Criticizing Punjab Chief Minister he said the loyalties of youth cannot be bought by distribution of laptops. He said the loyalties of youth can be won by introducing good policies and offering sacrifices.

 

The minister said, “This war on terror would be won with the help of people belonging to all segment of society including media.” He said the government is taking all measures and utilizing all available resources to flush out the menace of terrorism.

 

Expressing grief over Bashir Bilour’s death, he said saying it was very tragic and unfortunate incident. The senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a great politician and brave man, he added.

 

He said that the same mind set had assassinated the former prime minister and the leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto. Replying to a question he said the PPP government, coalition partners and civil and military institutions are fighting this war on terror with full courage and all available resources.

 

Urging media to expose the elements involved in spreading terrorism in the country, he said it was responsibility of all the people belonging to different segment of society including politicians and media to come forward and play effective role in fighting war against terror.

 

Commenting on another question, he said the government would utilize all resources to conduct the next general elections in a peaceful environment. Replying to a question‚ Qamar Zaman Kaira said Muttahida Qaumi Movement has its own point of view regarding the delimitation in Karachi.
