Pakistan vs India: Eden Garden is favorite venue for the Greenshirts

Pakistan is going to face arch rival India in the second One-Day match at Eden Gardens Ground, which is favorite venue for the Greenshirts.

Pakistan is leading the One Day International series against India by 1-0 after they defeated the host team by six wickets in the first game of the three-match tournament. Nasir Jamshed played a brilliant knock scoring a ton along with Junaid Khan who sent the four top class batsmen of the opponent team to the pavilion.

This is a favorite ground for Pakistan as they had not loss any of their matches against India on this ground.

Out of three contests against team India from 1987, Pakistan remained unbeatable and won all of their games. The visitors won their first match at the ground in February 18 1987, after they outclassed the Blue Shirts by 2 runs in a thrilling game.

In 1992, the two arch-rivals once against met at this ground and this time the host team was defeated by a big margin of 72 runs. The first two matches were played under the captaincy of Imran Khan.

Later in 2004, the two teams once again played another series and the result was once again in the favor of the Greenshirts. Pakistan chased a huge target of 293 runs and this time Inzimam-ul-Haq was leading the team and Salman Butt played an extra-ordinary innings of 108 runs.

Both the teams are playing a game at this stadium after eight years. This will be a do or die situation for India because losing the match is losing the series. India will have to win this game at to keep the hopes of winning the series alive.

Winning the match at Eden Gardens means another series loss for India.  The Indian team and captain Dhoni are under fire from critics already and there are also demands from various people to change the captain.  It now has to be seen how Indian batsman will fare in the match.  None of the top order batsman of India, except Yuvraj and Dhoni seems to be in form.
