The remarks of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain about Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah have caused social media outrage.
The MQM chief, while addressing his party workers in Karachi, said Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah took oath of allegiance to British King George VI. As a proof, Hussain read out the oath taken by the founder of the country after assuming charge of the governor general and said he held a British passport.
He also read a provision of Indian Independence Act 1947 which stated the office of Governor General in each of the two new countries – Pakistan and India – as representative of the Crown.
The social media website Twitter was abuzz during and after Hussain’s remarks, with most people saying that Altaf Hussain allegedly compared himself with Jinnah and tried to justify his dual nationality.
By comparing his politics/circumstances 2 that of the Father of our Nation, MQM leader Mr. Altaf H is indirectly insulting a Political Giant.
Syed Talat Hussain
Today the founding father has received Altaf’s drone attacks! This is a serious assault.
There should be a ban on any politician invoking the name and spirit of Jinnah. Sick of pygmies using him for their own twisted purposes.
Mr. Altaf Hussain is distorting history by comparing his status as British citizen with the oath taken by the Quaid in 1947.
MQM leader reveals his true colors by attacking Quaid-i-Azam and his shameless party people listen obediently like a herd sheep.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. No, don’t even try to do the comparison. With any living or deceased leaders of Pakistan. Enough already.
Please! Atleast spare honorable, the MOST dearest Quid-e-Azam from being dragged into today’s dirty politics! Please
