Indian Air chief threatens Pakistan

Indian Air Force Chief on Saturday warned Pakistan of using other options if the situation remains unchanged along the Line of Control, media reports said.

The statement comes amid growing tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations over last week cross border attack on Pakistani positions by Indian troops which killed at least two soldiers.

New Delhi continues to blame Islamabad for escalations after it rejected latter’s offer for independent probe into the issue. The fresh statement by the India Air Force may lead to further tensions between the tow neighbors.

Pakistan, on the other hand, summoned the Indian ambassador on Friday to protest against unacceptable and unprovoked attacks by the Indian army that killed two Pakistani soldiers in five days in Kashmir.

Both sides claim responding to firing and neither is willing to admit which side fired first. The United States has urged the nuclear-armed rivals to cool tensions along the heavily militarised LoC.

Tensions flared on Sunday when Indian forces conducted a cross-border raid, killing one Pakistani soldier and injuring another. Hostilities escalated on Tuesday, when India what Pakistani military called propaganda to hoodwink the world accused Pakistan of killing and beheading two of its soldiers on their side of the LoC.

Kashmir, a Muslim-majority territory, has been the cause of two of their three wars since independence from Britain in 1947.
