Katinka Hosszu and Florent Hassambay grab gold medals – 2012 Indian Ocean Meet

Katinka Hosszu and Florent Hassambay grabbed gold medals of the Women’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) and Men’s 100m butterfly respectively at the 2012 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion.

With her notable pace, she remained prominently ahead of her closest competitor and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 59.96 seconds.

The champion was followed by Inge Dekker, who was almost four seconds slower from her and tapped the wall for second position with the timing of 1 minute and 03.09 seconds.

The silver medallist was traced by Marjorie Hoareau, who was three and a half body length behind and touched the wall for third position with the timing of 1 minute and 06.51 seconds.

Fourth finest spot of the event was gained by Emma Morel, who stayed 0.61 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end by completing her race in a time of 1 minute and 07.12 seconds.

Similarly, Morel was traced by Jade Chow Shi Yee, who was one and a half body length behind and concluded her race in fifth place by producing a time of 1 minute and 08.59 seconds.

On the other hand, Hassambay secure the title of 100m butterfly. His commendable pace placed him considerably ahead of his challengers from the start as he sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 55.45 seconds.

The first position holder was chased by Kevin Lucian, who was 1.45 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and posted an effort of 56.90 seconds for silver medal.

The silver medallist was followed by Julien Bayle, who remained only 0.04 seconds slower and touched the wall for bronze medal by producing an effort of 56.94 seconds.

Fourth best spot of the race was obtained by Bayle’s team-member, Aurelien Aubras, who was 1.92 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 58.86 seconds.

Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the race after the event.
