China’s young player Xue Yao stole the limelight by reaching into Women’s Singles top-eight stage after showing exit to her local challenger Sonia Su Ya Cheah in pre-quarter-final clash at Maybank Malaysia Open 2013 on Thursday, January 17, in Malaysia.

The impressive Yao, who has been working hard to elevate her skills for the last one year, played with greater level of confidence and remained successful in winning this round-of-16 clash by taking the court time for just 33 minutes.

Yao showed wonderful performance on court as she played at her best speed and remained successful in grabbing a comprehensive victory in straight games with a comfortable total on the score board.

In the meanwhile, the local shuttler failed to play aggressive badminton as she could not control the pace of rallies at crucial stages in the match and eventually lost it without winning any set.

Yao played with terrific control in her shots and managed to occupy the pace of rallies from opening rallies of the first set.

The tempo of the rallies was very fast in opening set and Yao entertained local fans with her incredible skills.

It was Yao who did not show any respect to her passionate opponent in the first part and took a spectacular lead in the arena.

The impressive Yao remained comfortable in the arena after the mid-game interval as she played with the same speed.

Yao continued executing powerful strokes in targeted areas and took the opening game with a superb total of 21-16.

Things were not much different in the second set of this entertaining fight as Yao played in the similar dominating fashion.

Yao was impressively fast on court and she did not face any problem in building a staggering difference until the one-minute break.

Sonia could not show resistance in the second game of this match as her challenger Yao played aggressive badminton and secured the game with a convincing margin of 21-15.

The impressive Chinese lady secured her berth in Women’s Singles quarter-final after defeating Sonia in round-of-16 clash with a superb 21-16 and 21-15 score on the board.
