Julien Zhu and Kevin Doo pocket gold medals – 2012 CeraVe Invitational

Julien Zhu and Kevin Doo captured gold medals of the 200m butterfly in 13-14 year olds Women and Men’s category on second day of the 2012 CeraVe Invitational at Berkeley Aquatic Club.

Zhu stayed in a comfortable lead over her challengers and stepped on the finishing end for gold medal by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 24.55 seconds.

The first position holder was traced by Giorgia Piantanida, who was almost 7.50 seconds slower and stepped on the finishing wall for silver medal by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 32.08 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Ann Mulvenna, who remained 0.54 seconds slower from her former finisher and stepped on the wall for bronze medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 32.62 seconds.

Fourth spot of the event was obtained by Cat Alabanza, who stayed 0.34 seconds away from her preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 32.96 seconds.

Later, Doo captured the title of equivalent event in Men’s corner. He remained almost eight seconds ahead of his closest swimmer and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 12.39 seconds for gold medal.

The gold medallist was traced by Justin Torres, who was 7.95 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 20.34 seconds.

The silver medallist was trailed by Chris Balbo, who was 0.33 seconds slower and stepped on the victory stand for bronze medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 20.67 seconds.

Subsequently, fourth fastest spot of the race was chased by Sriniram Narasimhan, who was nearly two and a half body length slower and reached the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 23.98 seconds.

Similarly, fifth spot of the race was obtained by Anton Khrystenko, who was 0.22 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and emerged on the wall by clocking and effort of 2 minutes and 24.20 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the event.
