Denmark’s top players Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen proved their supremacy in the arena and claimed Mixed Doubles title at Maybank Malaysia Open 2013, which ended up in Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday, January 20.

In the final encounter, Fischer and Pedersen played amazing badminton and overpowered the top seeded local opponents Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying in a completely commanding fashion.

The second seeded Danish shuttlers were in complete control of the game throughout the final encounter and they remained successful in winning the contest in straight games with a superb 21-13 and 21-18 score on the board.

On the other hand, the top seeded Peng Soon and Liu Ying could not live up to the expectations of their home fans as they played quivering badminton and lost the match without taking away any set from their Danish challengers.

Fischer and Pedersen performed remarkably well from the initial points of first set as they played with wonderful speed and grabbed the control.

The in-form Danish players were quite comfortable in getting the bird timely and they did not encounter any complication in executing their impressive strokes in targeted areas.

Fischer and Pedersen stayed in dictating position all the way to set up a phenomenal lead until the end of starting part.

After the one-minute interval, Fischer and Pedersen stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a reasonable gap.

The positive and aggressive play of Fischer and Pedersen helped them to claim the opening game with a lopsided 21-13 score on the board.

In the second game, Peng Soon and Liu Ying worked hard to play tricky badminton but they failed to create pressure on their Danish challengers.

Until the one-minute interval in the second game, the score was close as both sides played positive and aggressive badminton in the arena.

After the interval, Fischer and Pedersen started to dominate the pace of rallies and also stayed calm in the arena. They did not commit any mistake in the ending points and wrapped up the second game with a reasonable 21-18 margin on the score board.
